Safety

Could parking be better organised at Palmerston Rd and Pyke Street – it is quite dangerous there with so many cars parked. Jade, 13, Barry

 Response from Cllr Geoff Cox

Cabinet Member for Visible and Building Services

Dangerous and illegal parking is a matter for the police to consider and address. If the police feel that introducing some form of parking restriction e.g. double yellow lines could reduce parking problems, then they would raise this with the Council. We would then consider what form of parking restriction may be appropriate and would put these restrictions in place.  We will pass on your concern to the police.

The Ash path from Penarth to Dinas Powys is very dark and dangerous.  It does not have suitable lighting and walk-way for public use night and day.  Can something be done about this?  The Crib youth club (Penarth Leisure centre)

 Response from Cllr Geoff Cox

Cabinet Member for Visible and Building Services

The Ash Path is not part of our highway network; it is actually a rural Public Footpath which runs over private agricultural land. Public footpaths are not lit and there is no agreement at the moment to do so in this case.
